Lemongrass is found growing in many regions such as Thailand, India, and Burma where the fresh grass is used in culinary recipes. Lemongrass essential oil is thought to be energetically cleansing and helpful for stressful states of mind. It is used in massage oil for occasional soreness and included in cosmetics from soaps to lotions and skin care.
Our organic lemongrass oil is steam distilled. This species also goes by Malabar or Cochin grass. It is related to citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus)

Blending and Uses
Lemongrass oil is found in many outdoor essential oil blends to help deter pests alongside citronella, cedarwood, thyme, and catnip. The cleansing properties of lemongrass pair well with sage, rosemary, eucalyptus, and bergamot.
This oil combines beautifully in diffusers for a boost of energy with spearmint and lemon and it is great for helping remove odors from the air.
This oil has astringent qualities for controlling blemishes and blends well with palmarosa or juniper for simular purposes. It can be combined with oils like geranium, cinnamon leaf, or peppermint in carrier oils, cream, or shampoo to support healthy feet, nails, and scalp.

Safety
This oil may interact with certain drugs, can cause skin sensitization, and is potentially teratogenic. Avoid while pregnant. Never use essential oils undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified healthcare practitioner. Keep away from children and pets.
Before using perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back. Apply a small quantity of diluted essential oil and cover with a bandage. If you experience any irritation use carrier oil or cream to further dilute the essential oil, and then wash with soap and water. If no irritation occurs after 48 hours it is safe to use on your skin.
